Memorandum of Understanding with Water Industry Alliance (WIA)
CII-Triveni Water Institute, CII’s Center of Excellence on Water and Water Industry Alliance (WIA) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on 8th August 2016 in New Delhi. The MoU was signed by Ms. Rachel Barratt Chief Executive Officer, Water Industry Alliance Inc. and Mr.S Raghupathy Deputy Director General Confederation of Indian Industry
The MoU establishes the basis for co-operation, collaboration and consultation between the CII and the WIA on issues of mutual interest and to achieve mutual objectives in relation to South Australian businesses working with CII on water initiatives for India and in particular, Rajasthan, which is a Sister State with South Australia. It also acknowledges the existing relationship between the Parties, based on shared objectives in relation to water management issues, and sets out general principles under which the Parties will work to achieve mutual objectives.
It also aims to encourage and identify opportunities and areas where WIA Members and CII-TWI can pool expertise and derive learnings and workable, scalable solutions in the water sector in India. This may include technology, management, policy reforms and advance tools and techniques.
The Water Industry Alliance facilitates the growth of the South Australian water industry in business, research and education by Informing and connecting members, Promoting successes of its members and the wider industry, Liaising with and informing government, Showcasing the SA water industry and its members to the world, Connecting world leading research to product development, and Providing frameworks to facilitate entry to new markets.
